THE FOSHAY TOWER
BIBLIOGRAPHY SECTION
featuring a variety of magazine articles tracing the history of the band. This section is brought to you by a generous grant from John Davidson, who compiled everything, typed it, and kindly allowed us to make it available here.
Brats in Babylon: The Replacements
by Ralph Heibutzki, originally published in Goldmine magazine, October 29, 1993.
Until someone writes a book about the band, this article will remain the definitive account of their history. Featuring the complete story of the band from beginning to end, with lots of information about unreleased songs. With the exception of Paul Westerberg, everyone significant was interviewed for this article, including Bob, Chris, Tommy, Slim, and Peter Jesperson.

Hold My Life
by Charles Aaron, originally published in Spin magazine, 1993.
The notorious article/interview with Bob which a lot of people considered an unfair hatchet job. Bob is portrayed as a pathetic junkie loser, which in some ways may have been true but it wasn't the whole truth. Also features bitchy gossip about Westerberg from Bob's ex-wife Carleen.

Into the Black: The Final Days of Bob Stinson
by Joseph Hart, originally published in The City Pages, 1995.
Another Bob article, published shortly after his death, this describes his sad final days and gives some background on his mental illness. Honest but not condescending like the Spin article.
